Day 1

10:20 - Arrival at Narita International Airport in Tokyo.

Transfer to hotel.

Arrival and hotel check-in.

A walk around Tokyo.

The Asakusa district, the magnificent Kaminarimon gate. The Sensō-ji temple (Asakusa Kannon) is one of the most significant and visited temples in Japan. Leading to the temple is the picturesque shopping street Nakamise-dōri, where one can find souvenirs and handicraft items. In Ueno Park we will see magnificent ponds, temples and halls surrounded by over 1,000 cherry trees in full blossom.

Introductory photo tour class in the evening.


Day 2

Tokyo. Breakfast at the hotel.

Tour to Yokohama, the second largest city in Japan. The Minato Mirai 21 district (translated as the Port of the Future), the Chinatown of Yokohama with its numerous Chinese restaurants and souvenir shops and stands. The Kantei-byo temple, the symbol of Chinatown. Visit to Landmark Tower, which has the highest observation deck in Japan.

Arrival at the hotel.


Day 3

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from the hotel in Tokyo.

Transfer to Kyoto by bullet train (Shinkansen).

Arrival and hotel check-in. A walk around the picturesque districts of Kyoto. Gion, the most famous geisha district in Kyoto occupying several blocks, the Yasaka Shrine and the Maruyama Park, where we will observe cherry blossoms and walk along its winding footpaths. The temple of pure water, Kiyomizu-dera.

Arrival at the hotel.

Evening class.


Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel.

Tour to Nara. Beautiful old shops and streets. Tame deer roaming around the ancient city, the Buddhist temple Kōfuku-ji, pagodas, Shinto shrines, the world's largest bronze statue of the Buddha, the Kasuga Grand Shrine dedicated to four gods with its ancient moss-covered lanterns.

Return to the hotel in Kyoto.

Night photo shoot in the old city.


Day 5

Kyoto. Breakfast at the hotel. A walk around the Temple of the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), the Daitoku-ji temple, one of the most prominent Zen temples. The Ryōan-ji temple – a rock garden – the most important Zen garden in Japan.

Free time.

Evening class.


Day 6

Kyoto—Tokyo. Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to Tokyo by bullet train (Shinkansen).

Arrival and hotel check-in.

A walk around Tokyo – the Harajuku district, the Meiji-Jingu Shrine and the Shinjuku district – the liveliest part of the city, bustling with energy day and night.

Night photo shoot in the city from the observation deck of the Roppongi Hills skyscraper.

Arrival at the hotel.


Day 7

Tokyo. Early rise at 4:00 a.m. Tsukiji fish market – the biggest tuna auction and a spectacular sight (upon request). The Rainbow Bridge. The Oedo-Onsen-Monogatari complex in Odaiba. The Oedo Onsen hot spring complex.

Arrival at the hotel.

Free time.


Day 8

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Transfer to Narita International Airport.

12:00 - Departure to Moscow.



Photography program


We will study:

~ architectural photography,

~ landscape and panoramic photography,

~ genre photography,

~ street portrait,

~ peculiarities of evening and night photography,

~ theory and practice in composition for traveling,

~ shooting in difficult lighting conditions

Daily practical exercises in evenings and during all joint photo shoots. Additional class after the photo tour.

Cost of the photo tour: to be determined.


The cost includes: accommodation in a 4 star hotel, room for two.

Transfer to/from airport. Transfers between Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara. Pass for the Shinkansen bullet train. Practical and theoretical classes in photography during the photo tour and the final class after the photo tour with the instructor, Ksenia Isakova.

The cost does not include: airline tickets, visa, medical insurance, lunch, dinner.
